IL SB1714

Amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934 to allow alcoholic liquors to be served or sold in buildings under the control of the Board of Trustees of Chicago State University for public events that are not student-related activities.

Requires the Board of Trustees to issue a written policy within 6 months of the effective date outlining which types of events are eligible for this exemption, with authority to revise policies as needed.

Specifies seven factors the Board must consider when developing its policy, including whether events are student-related, venue control capabilities, age demographics of attendees, prevention of underage sales, and restrictions on removing beverages from the venue.

Requires the Board to submit its policy to the Illinois Liquor Control Commission and mandates prior written approval from the Office of the Chancellor for each event where alcoholic liquors will be served.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
