IL SB1750

Amends the Unemployment Insurance Act to modify requalification requirements for unemployment benefits beginning January 1, 2014.

Requires individuals to have earnings equal to or exceeding their current weekly benefit amount in each of four calendar weeks to qualify for a subsequent benefit year.

Earnings must be from employment services reported under the Federal Insurance Contributions Act by employers who submit certifying statements.

Changes the prior requirement of earning 3 times the weekly benefit amount to the stricter standard of meeting the weekly benefit threshold in all four weeks.

Applies only to benefit years beginning on or after January 1, 2014, while maintaining the previous standard for benefit years beginning between January 1, 1972 and December 31, 2013.
