IL SB1854

Amends the Unified Code of Corrections to redefine "imprisonment" to include electronic home detention served after an offender is committed to the sheriff's custody and placed in an electronic home detention program under Article 8A.

Allows sheriffs to place offenders in electronic home detention programs to serve minimum terms of imprisonment when offenders are sentenced under provisions requiring a minimum term.

Prohibits electronic home detention for minimum terms when the offender was convicted of an excluded offense or when the court's sentencing order specifically requires the minimum term be served in a county correctional facility.
