Allows veterans to exceed the maximum age limit of 35 years for police department positions by the number of years served on active military duty, up to a maximum of 10 years.

Permits waiver of associate's degree requirement for police applicants who have served 24 months of honorable active duty in the United States Armed Forces or 180 days in combat duty recognized by the Department of Defense.

Permits waiver of bachelor's degree requirement for police applicants who have served 36 months of honorable active duty in the United States Armed Forces or 180 days in recognized combat duty.

Maintains existing disqualifications for individuals with felony convictions, crimes involving moral turpitude, and specific misdemeanor convictions listed in the Criminal Code.
