Allows long-term care facility licensees to apply to the Department of Public Health to operate in whole or in part within a hospital building already licensed under the Hospital Licensing Act.

Long-term care facility operations in a host hospital are limited to personal care, sheltered care, or nursing services and must demonstrate they provide necessary services the host hospital does not offer.

The long-term care facility licensee and host hospital must share a single board of directors and chief executive officer, with joint responsibility for design, construction, engineering, maintenance, waste disposal, and fire safety requirements.

Both entities must post signage and provide written notice to patients clearly identifying which services are provided by each separately licensed entity and how common services will be coordinated.

Requirements do not relieve either entity from compliance with the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act.
