IL SB2159

Amends the Code of Civil Procedure to establish new rules for admitting photographs as evidence in motor vehicle accident cases involving personal injury or property damage claims.

Photographs of motor vehicles or property are deemed relevant and admissible if authenticated by a lay or occurrence witness with personal knowledge that the photograph accurately portrays the vehicle or property before or after the accident.

Eliminates the requirement for expert or opinion witness testimony regarding the photograph's relevance or any correlation between vehicle/property damage and claimed personal injuries.
