IL SB2223

Amends the Board of Higher Education Act by making a technical change to Section 2 concerning the creation and composition of the Board.

Removes a redundant instance of the word "the" in the section describing the 10 Governor-appointed members selected by and with the advice and consent of the Senate.

Board of Higher Education composition remains 16 members: 10 appointed by Governor with Senate consent, one public university governing board member, one private college/university trustee, plus the chairs of the Illinois Community College Board and Illinois Student Assistance Commission, and 2 student members.

Requires one of the two student members to be a non-traditional undergraduate student at least 24 years old representing the views of non-traditional students such as employed persons or parents.

Requires one of the 10 Governor-appointed members to be a faculty member at an Illinois public university, effective July 1, 2005.
