IL SB2226

Prohibits sanitary landfills within 25 miles of an asphalt roofing shingle recycling site (operating under a Beneficial Use Determination) from accepting whole or processed asphalt roofing shingles for disposal.

Allows sanitary landfills to continue accepting asphalt roofing shingles that are commingled with municipal waste, including construction or demolition debris.

Requires the Agency to post on its website the names and addresses of all approved asphalt roofing shingle recycling sites operating under a Beneficial Use Determination.

Mandates annual reporting by January 31 from each BUD recipient detailing quantities received, beneficial uses, quantities used in each application, and disposition of unused shingles.

Sunsets the provision on February 1, 2018.
