IL SB2241

Amends Section 33-3 of the Criminal Code concerning official misconduct by public officers, employees, and special government agents.

Makes a technical grammatical change by correcting the conjunction "or" in the opening language of the misconduct statute.

Maintains existing provisions defining four categories of official misconduct: failing to perform mandatory duties, knowingly performing forbidden acts, performing acts in excess of authority for personal advantage, and soliciting unauthorized fees or rewards.

Preserves penalties for conviction including forfeiture of office or employment and classification as a Class 3 felony.
