IL SB2262

Amends the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act by adding Section 3A-45 to establish a new advisory opinion process.

Requires the Attorney General to issue advisory opinions upon request regarding whether appointees to state boards or commissions meet the qualifications for their positions.

Allows appointments authorities and the Chairman or Minority Spokesperson of the Senate Executive Appointments Committee to request these advisory opinions from the Attorney General.
