IL SB2403

Adds a new fee structure (subsection f-10) allowing county boards to impose a mandatory fee of $10 to $30 on criminal convictions and grants of supervision for felonies, misdemeanors, petty offenses, and business offenses.

Fees collected under the new subsection must be deposited into a Court Appointed Special Advocates Fund created by the county board to support CASA services within the county.

Circuit court clerks collect the fees and remit them to the CASA Fund, which the county board uses to make grants supporting Court Appointed Special Advocates activities and services.

Applies only in counties where Court Appointed Special Advocates provide services and only when a court appearance is required.

Effective immediately upon enactment.
