Renumbers Section 2-3.157 to Section 2-3.158 of the School Code regarding the Task Force on Civic Education.

Establishes Task Force composition of 13 members appointed by legislative leaders, teachers unions, school boards, media associations, non-profit organizations, higher education institutions, and principals/superintendents.

Task Force members serve without compensation but receive reimbursement for reasonable expenses and travel from State Board of Education appropriations.

Task Force must analyze current civic education in Illinois, review practices in other jurisdictions, and submit recommendations to the General Assembly by December 31, 2014 to increase civic literacy among youth.

Task Force is dissolved upon filing its report and the enabling statute is repealed on December 31, 2015.
