IL SB2741

Amends Section 3-8-1 of the Unified Code of Corrections concerning receiving procedures for committed persons delivered to the Department of Corrections.

Corrects grammatical language in subsection (a) by changing "The The" to "The" in describing the Department's establishment of receiving stations.

Requires the Department to verify identity of persons delivered before accepting custody and to require delivery of required items or a statement explaining why they cannot be delivered.

Establishes procedures for the Department to inventory and issue receipts for money and personal property of committed persons that are not permitted in their possession.
