SB2777 Summary

• Amends the Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/7) to add exemptions for records requested by persons committed to or detained by the Department of Human Services under the Sexually Violent Persons Commitment Act.

• Exempts materials that are available in the library of the facility where the individual is confined from disclosure upon request.

• Exempts records containing staff members' personnel files, staff rosters, or other staffing assignment information from disclosure.

• Exempts materials that are available through an administrative request to the Department of Human Services from disclosure under FOIA.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
