IL SB2788

Amends the Riverboat Gambling Act to add duties to the Illinois Gaming Board's powers and responsibilities regarding riverboat gambling operations.

Requires the Gaming Board to retain the Chicago Police Department as security personnel and to conduct investigations, searches, seizures, arrests, and other duties under the Act if an owners license is awarded allowing gambling operations within the City of Chicago.

Maintains existing Gaming Board structure with 5 members appointed by the Governor with Senate approval, including requirements for members with law enforcement, accounting, and legal expertise.

Establishes Board authority to license operators, conduct hearings, promulgate regulations, inspect riverboats, investigate violations, and impose penalties up to $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for licensees.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
