IL SB2803

Amends the Illinois Procurement Code to exempt Secretary of State vehicles (except mid-sized sedans) from the requirement that 25% of state-purchased vehicles be fueled by electricity, compressed natural gas, liquid petroleum gas, or liquid natural gas beginning January 1, 2016.

Maintains existing requirements that all gasoline-powered vehicles purchased with state funds be flexible fuel vehicles capable of running on E-85 fuel or fuel-efficient hybrid vehicles meeting at least 20% improved fuel economy standards.

Requires diesel-fueled vehicles purchased with state funds to be certified to run on 5% biodiesel (B5) fuel.

Allows the Chief Procurement Officer to exempt certain vehicle purchases based on intended use or considerations such as health and safety of Illinois citizens.
