IL SB2806

Amends Section 24-2 of the Criminal Code of 2012 regarding exemptions to unlawful use of weapons provisions.

Removes the one-hour commuting time limit for private security contractors, private detectives, and private alarm contractors carrying concealed weapons while commuting between home and work.

Eliminates the requirement that commercial/industrial security guards be part of a security force of at least 5 persons to qualify for weapons exemption.

Adds new exemptions for parole agents and parole supervisors, peace officers on tactical response teams, and Olympic/Paralympic athletes with sanctioned competition firearms.

Repeals the separate exemption for armored car company drivers, consolidating that authority under the financial institution security guard exemption.
