IL SB2926

Amends the Freedom of Information Act to allow public bodies to avoid copying and distributing public records that are already published on their website, provided the Freedom of Information officer certifies the online version is a true and accurate copy of the original record.

Requires the Freedom of Information officer to notify requesters that the record is available online instead of providing a copy.

Mandates that if a person requesting the record is unable to access it online, the public body must then provide a physical copy as originally requested.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
