• Amends Section 5-6 of the Illinois Public Aid Code concerning payment for obligations incurred prior to a recipient's death under the Medicaid program.

• Makes a technical change by removing a duplicate word in the statutory text regarding obligations incurred but not paid at the time of a recipient's death.

• Applies to medical and other care services provided in nursing homes, specialized mental health rehabilitation facilities, and ID/DD Community Care facilities authorized under Section 5-5.

• Permits the Illinois Department to pay for unpaid obligations incurred before a recipient's death after the recipient has died, subject to departmental rules and regulations.
