IL SB3016

Amends the definition of "confidential employee" under Illinois labor law to include secretaries and assistants to persons who formulate, determine, and effectuate labor relations policy.

Presumes that mayors, village presidents, county board presidents, county board chairmen, city/village managers, and city/village administrators are persons who formulate, determine, and effectuate labor relations policy.

Applies the new confidential employee provisions only to counties with a population exceeding 500,000 and municipalities located wholly or partially within such counties.

Protects the collective bargaining agreement status of individuals already covered by such agreements as of the effective date of this amendment to the 98th General Assembly.
