IL SB3018

Amends the Criminal Code of 2012 by adding Section 24-2.3 to prohibit unlawful use of three-dimensional printers to create firearms.

Defines "three-dimensional printer" as a computer-driven machine capable of producing a three-dimensional object from a digital model.

Criminalizes knowingly using a three-dimensional printer to create a fully functioning firearm as a Class A misdemeanor.

Exempts persons who possess a federal firearms manufacturing license under 18 U.S.C. Section 923(a) of the Gun Control Act of 1968.

Exempts persons who use a three-dimensional printer to create non-functioning firearm prototypes.
