• Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board must develop an Alzheimer's disease recognition and response training course in collaboration with a statewide Alzheimer's organization.

• Police officers must satisfactorily complete the Alzheimer's training course before certification, effective immediately upon passage.

• The Office of the State Fire Marshal must develop similar Alzheimer's training for firefighters seeking certification at levels 1 or 2, applicable to both volunteer and paid personnel.

• The Department of Public Health must develop an Alzheimer's disease training course for emergency medical technicians; new EMTs must complete it before certification, and current certified EMTs must complete it within 18 months of the act's effective date.

• Training may be delivered via Internet, DVD, CD ROM, or classroom instruction, with no train-the-trainer requirement imposed.
