IL SB3191

Amends the Governor Succession Act to make a technical change to Section 1 concerning the line of succession for the office of Governor.

Corrects grammatical language in subsection (a) regarding the event that the Governor is unable to exercise powers and duties of office.

Maintains the existing order of succession: Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Comptroller, Treasurer, President of the Senate, and Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Preserves provisions for temporary succession (Acting Governor) during disability and permanent succession during death, conviction on impeachment, or resignation.
