IL SB3325

Amends the Hospice Program Licensing Act by removing the restriction that no more than 16 persons may be served in a hospice residence per location.

Retains existing standards for hospice residences addressing safety, admission criteria, medical services, record maintenance, abuse reporting, building operations, and ownership.

Maintains limits on the total number of licensed hospice residences: 5 in counties with 700,000+ population, 5 in counties with 200,000-699,999 population, and 5 in counties with less than 200,000 population (effective August 9, 2013).

Preserves requirement that the Department of Public Health prescribe minimum standards for all licensed hospice programs including staffing, qualifications, patient care quality, volunteer training, and patient rights.
