SB3373 Summary

• Requires the Secretary of State and third party testers to provide written commercial driver's license tests in English, Spanish, Polish, and Mandarin.

• Third party testers may only administer skills tests if they offer written tests in all four specified languages: English, Spanish, Polish, and Mandarin.

• Effective July 1, 2014, applicants for an original or upgraded CDL requiring a skills test must hold a Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) for a minimum of 14 calendar days before taking the skills test.

• Makes technical corrections to references to federal regulations regarding CDL testing procedures and third party tester authorization.
