SB3419 Summary

• Amends the Counties Code to allow county boards to adopt ordinances creating a liquor license classification that authorizes holders to subsequently apply to the Illinois Gaming Board for video gaming licenses as licensed establishments, licensed fraternal establishments, or licensed veterans establishments.

• Amends the Illinois Municipal Code with identical provisions allowing municipalities to adopt ordinances creating the same liquor license classification for video gaming authorization.

• License fees for the new classification cannot exceed the amount charged for similar liquor licenses.

• Counties and municipalities that already permit video gaming must issue the new license to existing liquor license holders upon request at no additional fee.

• Existing video gaming licenses and rights of licensed establishments, licensed fraternal establishments, licensed veterans establishments, and licensed truck stop establishments are not affected by adoption of these ordinances.
