Amends Section 3-2-5 of the Unified Code of Corrections regarding the organization of the Department of Corrections and Department of Juvenile Justice.

Corrects the language regarding the Department of Corrections Director by changing "and and" to "and" in the provision about the Director and Assistant Director appointed by the Governor.

Maintains that the Department of Juvenile Justice is responsible for persons under 17 years of age when sentenced to imprisonment and requires they be kept sight and sound separate from adult offenders in the Department of Corrections.

Requires the Department of Corrections to establish a gang intelligence unit under the Director's supervision to gather information on inmate gangs, monitor gang activities, and develop policies to deter gang activity.

Designates gang intelligence information as highly confidential and exempt from Freedom of Information Act requests, while allowing it to be shared with other law enforcement agencies to assist in investigations and prosecutions of gang activity.
