Requires persons conducting business under assumed names in counties with more than 4,000,000 inhabitants to renew certificates every 5 years, with existing certificates renewed within 5 years of the act's effective date.

County Clerk must notify business owners at least 90 days before renewal deadline; failure to renew results in cancellation of the assumed name from the county's index.

Establishes a $25 renewal fee for assumed name certificates and increases the filing/indexing fee from $5 to a maximum of $50, as set by the County Clerk.

Permits counties with fewer than 4,000,000 inhabitants to adopt the renewal requirement by ordinance.

Allows County Clerk to cancel a certificate if renewal notice is returned as undeliverable at the address listed in the certificate.
