SB3582 - Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Appropriations

• Appropriates $1,747,175,000 total for the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014, consisting of $37,447,800 in General Funds, $459,437,800 in Other State Funds, and $1,250,289,400 in Federal Funds.

• Funds operational expenses including general administration ($7,800,500), federal program overhead ($19,539,400), and capital program administration ($2,000,000).

• Allocates $36,068,400 for the Office of Tourism operations covering administrative expenses, statewide tourism promotion, Illinois State Fair activities, and international tourism advertising.

• Appropriates $275,000,000 from Federal Workforce Training Fund for Workforce Investment Act grants and workforce training programs.

• Funds multiple economic development initiatives including grants for small business development ($58,000,000), community development ($450,000,000), energy assistance ($520,500,000), and coal technology development ($20,000,000).

• Takes effect July 1, 2014.
