This bill takes effect only if Senate Bill 16 of the 98th General Assembly becomes law.

School districts are guaranteed to receive no less state aid under the new state aid formula (Section 18-8.15) than they received under the previous formula for the 2013-2014 school year.

If a school district receives less state aid under the new formula than under the previous formula for 2014-2015 or any subsequent school year, the district will receive a supplementary payment from a separate appropriation to make up the difference.

The supplementary payment provision applies continuously in subsequent years, ensuring districts do not fall below their 2013-2014 baseline aid amount.
