Eugene "Gene" C. Crivello passed away on June 4, 2014, at the age of 94; he was born on June 17, 1919 in Alton.

Served as a Master Sergeant in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II, including assignments at Presque Isle Air Base in Maine and Keflavik, Iceland.

Was the first senior citizen to serve as a page in the Illinois General Assembly and served as director of the American Lung Association until his retirement in 1984.

Accumulated nearly 3,000 volunteer hours at Saint Anthony's Health Center and served as President of the Alton Godfrey Rotary Club as a Paul Harris Fellow.

Illinois Senate expresses sympathy to his surviving wife Virginia, four children, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and extended family members.
