Richard Bruens of McHenry died on July 19, 2014; he was born November 2, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Anthony Richard and Mary Jane Bruens.

Served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1966 and worked for the Santa Fe Burlington Northern Railroad for 40 years.

Married LaVerne Klajbor on October 14, 1967 at St. Mary of Perpetual Help Church in Chicago; was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Active member of the Church of Holy Apostles, McHenry Polish Legion Post #188, and Knights of Columbus; enjoyed golfing, collecting coins and stamps, and baseball cards.

Survived by three children (Dawn, Michael, and Michelle) and seven grandchildren (Jacob, Miranda, Kayla, Jack, Allie, Vanessa, and Haven); Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family.
