Jean L. Davis of Lacon passed away on July 30, 2014; she was born January 2, 1940 to Raymond and Cecelia Engelbrecht Stange and married Earl Davis on July 2, 1960.

Served as Marshall County Circuit Clerk for 25 years and later as Managing Director of the Marshall County Historical Society.

Served as alderman for the east ward on Lacon City Council, published History of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Henry, and was a Rotarian and past-President with cultural exchange service to Sweden.

Served as a Master Gardener and helped create gardens at the Marshall County Courthouse, Henry and Lacon Catholic Churches, and the Heading House in Peoria; also served as board member for Boy Scouts in Lacon.

Illinois Senate extends condolences to her surviving family: daughter Anita Thul, son Errol Davis, siblings Raymond Stange, Patricia Poskocil, Rita Simpkins, Jan Simpkins, Margi Koors, and Sharon Bumgardner; and grandchildren Sarah, Karen, Renee, Aaron, and Karina.
