Illinois Senate mourns the death of Gerald A. "Jerry" Soberg of Harvard, who passed away on August 9, 2014.

Jerry Soberg was born April 30, 1946 in Woodstock to Oscar and Clara Soberg; married Kathy E. Morgan on June 7, 1969; and served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 in Germany.

Worked as a heavy equipment operator for Gluth Brothers Construction in Woodstock for over 25 years as a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150; enjoyed building and remodeling homes, flying RC planes with the Big Foot RC Flyers club, and spending summers in Wisconsin with family.

Survived by his wife of 45 years Kathy, son Troy, daughter Sandi, five grandchildren, one brother, one sister, and numerous extended family members.

Senate extends sincere condolences to the family of Jerry Soberg and directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to them.
