Harry A. Nevlin, Jr. passed away on August 5, 2014, at age 95, born June 22, 1919 in Alton.

Served 4 years in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant.

Operated H.A. Nevlin Moving and Transfer company from after World War II until his retirement and sale of the business in 1986.

Involved in extensive community service including organizing the Alton Memorial Day Parade from 1944 to 1992, serving as Parade Marshal in 2001, and active membership in the Masonic Lodge (70-year member), Kiwanis Club (63 years), and multiple other civic organizations.

Illinois Senate expresses sympathy to his surviving wife Linda, 4 children, 2 stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
