John F. Pretto of Vernon Hills died on August 19, 2014, and the Illinois Senate expresses mourning for his passing.

Pretto was born July 29, 1926 in Crystal Falls, Michigan and served in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific theatre during World War II.

Pretto was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan and member of Local 56 Bricklayers Union.

Survivors include his wife Anna (married 50 years), three children, five grandchildren, and two siblings.

A suitable copy of the resolution will be presented to the Pretto family as an expression of sympathy.
