Charles G. Rakers of Aviston died on July 29, 2014; he was born July 5, 1939 to Bernard and Gertrude Rakers, Sr.

Served as Board Member for Village of Aviston from 1983 to 1989, Mayor from 1989 to 2009, member of Clinton County Board, and Chairman of Clinton County Republican Central Committee.

Worked for Markus Cabinet Manufacturing and Aviston Lumber for 38 years, then retired as garage foreman from Centralia Correctional Facility; was a retired Aviston Fire Department member.

Married Dolores Imming on June 5, 1962; was a United States Army Reserve veteran and member of St. Francis Parish of Assisi.

Survived by 2 sons, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a brother, 4 sisters, and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews; was preceded in death by his wife Dolores and several family members.
