Troy Randall Ward of Glen Carbon passed away on June 3, 2014; he was born September 21, 1947 in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Served as a Vietnam veteran in the United States Army and received 2 Bronze Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Army Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge.

Worked as plant manager of A.O. Smith in Granite City and retired from the quality control department of Nike Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri; was a member of Glen Carbon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2222.

Survived by his wife Cathy of 42 years, 4 children (Mary Hughes, Kelly Wesley, Brandon Ward, and Jon Ward), 8 grandchildren, and 2 siblings.

The Illinois Senate expresses condolences for Troy Ward's passing and directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to his family.
