Illinois Senate expresses condolences on the death of Mary Susan "Susie" Danielson of Crystal Lake, who passed away on September 12, 2014.

Danielson was born July 21, 1952 in Macomb and graduated from Crystal Lake Community High School in 1970 and Western Illinois University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in Education; she later earned a master's degree from Concordia University.

Danielson taught at North Elementary School in Crystal Lake for 34 years (1974-2008), educating fourth and sixth-graders and leading environmental education field trips where her classes planted native Illinois prairie vegetation.

She was an accomplished golfer and fundraiser who raised over $100,000 for the Susan G. Komen breast cancer charity through golf outings at Timber Pointe Golf Club in Poplar Grove, and won numerous local tournaments and club championships.

Danielson is survived by her husband Kim, brother Patrick Babington and family, brother William Babington III and family, longtime friend and caregiver Rose Volpendesta, and many other family and friends.
