John David "Dave" Spoor of McHenry died on September 16, 2014; he was born May 24, 1948 in Chicago.

Worked as an iron worker and member of Iron Workers Local Union 1, helping construct major Chicago buildings including the Sears Tower, John Hancock Building, and Prudential Building.

Enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, poker, casino visits, and was actively involved in his grandchildren's sports activities, earning the nickname "Poppa Motorcycle."

Survived by his wife Norma McMahon-Spoor, two children (Melissa and Aaron Spoor), seven grandchildren and step-grandchildren, one brother Greg, and four nephews.

Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and orders a suitable copy of the resolution presented to the Spoor family.
