Joseph Barclay Organ passed away on May 26, 2014, at age 89; he was a lifelong resident of Oak Park and River Forest who married Marilyn in 1950.

Served in the United States Army during World War II stationed in Europe, then attended Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio.

Worked in real estate as a home builder and licensed realtor, and later served as supervisor of property acquisitions for the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Served on the River Forest Park District Board for over 30 years including as board president, and held leadership roles in the River Forest Service Club, American Legion Post 730, and River Forest Republican Organization.

Received the Community Service Award from the River Forest Service Club in 2006; survived by his wife, 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
