Helen Rose Lockard of Aurora passed away on October 3, 2014, and the Illinois Senate expresses condolences to her family and loved ones.

Born December 9, 1938, she graduated from East Aurora High School in 1956 and worked for Northern Illinois Gas Company (now Nicor Gas Company).

She was the owner and operator of Carl Stirns Marine in Aurora, a family business started by her father in 1936, and was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

She was an 8+ gallon blood donor and organ donor who was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands (Dale R. Kahle and Christopher Lockard), son Kerry Kahle, and brother William Stirn.

She is survived by two sons, four grandchildren, one sister, and several cousins and nephews.
