Larry G. Alkire of Libertyville died on November 4, 2014, and the Illinois Senate expresses condolences to his family and friends.

Born October 14, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa; graduated from University of Iowa with a degree in Journalism and served as a public information officer in the United States Air Force.

Served on the Libertyville Township Board as a precinct committeeman and was a member of the Libertyville Historical Society and Gardeners of Central Lake County; honored as a Libertyville Senior of the Year.

Survived by his wife Marylyn "Mickey" Alkire, brother William "Bill" Alkire, five nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Deloris Linden.

A suitable copy of this resolution shall be presented to the Alkire family as an expression of the Senate's sympathy.
