Illinois Senate mourns the death of Major (Ret.) Alfred Earl Clark, Jr., who passed away on September 26, 2014.

Major Clark was born April 17, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Fayetteville State University and a Master of Arts in Administration and Supervision from Roosevelt University.

Served as a Major in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving an Honorable Discharge in January 1989 from the Army Reserve, and was awarded the Bronze Star and numerous other military honors.

Worked as an educator for 30 years in North Chicago and Chicago public schools, serving in roles including mathematics and science teacher, coach, dean of students, principal, athletic director, and superintendent's cabinet director.

A copy of this resolution is to be presented to his family as an expression of sympathy; he is survived by his wife Donna Sue, son Jadaun, three siblings, and numerous extended family members and friends.
