Paul I. Poirier of Waukegan died on October 19, 2014; he was born in Waukegan and was a lifelong resident.

Served as a non-commissioned officer with the United States Army in Korea, then joined the Waukegan Police Department where he served for 30 years.

Survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia "Sam" Poirier; 3 children; 5 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Illinois Senate expresses mourning for Paul Poirier's passing and directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of sympathy.
