Joyce E. Swanson of Gurnee passed away on November 6, 2014; she was born September 27, 1927 in Mount Clemens, Michigan.

Graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Occupational Therapy in 1949 and worked at the Downey Veteran Administration Hospital.

Active member of Gurnee Community Church for over 60 years and involved with the Gurnee Grade School Parent-Teachers Association and Girl Scouts.

Survived by two children (Nancy Gordon and Barbara Swanson), five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and other extended family members.

Illinois Senate mourns her passing and extends condolences to her family and friends.
