Illinois Senate mourns the death of Rev. Joseph Marquis Wilcox, who passed away on October 18, 2014.

Rev. Wilcox was born September 23, 1923 in Mansfield, Ohio and earned degrees from Transylvania University (1945) and Oberlin College Graduate School of Theology (1949).

Served as pastor at multiple Christian churches including First Christian Church in Waukegan for 12 years, and as hospital and residential chaplain for over 21 years combined.

Survived by his wife Emily Rees, 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and his sister Eleanor Wilcox Lime.

Senate extends sincere condolences to Rev. Wilcox's family and friends, with a copy of this resolution to be presented to his family.
