Illinois Senate mourns the death of Eugene Mitchell "Gene" Snarski of Waukegan, who passed away on September 2, 2014.

Snarski was born April 15, 1927; graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1944 where he attained the rank of Captain in JROTC; and married Sally Reynolds Sexton on February 13, 1954.

Graduated from University of Notre Dame with honors on January 30, 1949, and from Northwestern University School of Law on January 30, 1952; admitted to Illinois Bar on November 17, 1952.

Practiced law for over 50 years, serving as city attorney for Park City, Round Lake, and Kildeer, assistant city attorney for Waukegan, Lake County Bar Association treasurer for 5 years, and retired January 31, 2006.

Survived by all 8 children with his wife Sally (married 60 years), 24 grandchildren, his sister Generose Szostak, and many nieces and nephews.
