Honors Clarence W. Schawk, who died on September 20, 2014, expressing the Illinois Senate's sympathy to his family and friends.

Schawk was born March 21, 1926 in Chicago and served as a member of the United States Marine Corps' 2nd Division, 2nd Battalion in the Pacific theater during the Battle of Okinawa.

Founded and operated Schawk, Inc. in Chicago and co-owned the Geneva Inn on Lake Geneva with his wife Marilyn, whom he married on June 6, 1953.

Established the Clarence W. and Marilyn G. Schawk Family Foundation, which supported numerous charitable organizations including the United Way, Boy Scouts of America, Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, and inner city schools in Chicago.

Survived by his wife of 61 years, one sister, four children, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
