Illinois Senate expresses condolences for the death of James "Jimmy" W. Knight, who passed away on September 13, 2013.

Knight was born June 7, 1935, and served in the United States Air Force and Army National Guard's 933rd Military Police Company, retiring at the rank of Sergeant First Class.

Knight retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 years of service on the same mail route in the Bridgeport community and was a member of Parkway Garden Christian Church.

Knight is survived by his wife Dr. Ollie M. Knight, 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends.

A suitable copy of the resolution will be presented to Knight's family as an expression of the Senate's sympathy.
